Mei Heong Yuen Dessert, Chinatown

Since I am already at Chinatown, my mouth started to get itchy. So my old secondary classmate recommended us to try the famous dessert house which is known as Mei Heong Yuen Dessert. The crowds response here is just impressive. We barely able to find a table. They occupied two shop lots where one with air conditioned and one does not have. You are required to pay the bills once all your orders are served.
Cendol Ice @S$6.00
Outlook: 4/5

Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - This is the dessert that I had and they served a lot of such series dessert with various flavors. They gave us the gula melaka for us to pour as many as we like. The taste of gula melaka does taste a little like in Melaka but not completely the same. The ice so smooth which cool us off on that day. Must try dessert!

Yam Paste @S$3.00
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Not really as great as I thought to be which I have tasted a slightly better one than this few days ago at Vienna International Seafood and Teppanyaki Buffet Restaurant.

Egg Pudding Ginger @S$3.00
Outlook: 3/5

Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - Not enough ginger taste to my liking.

Sesame Paste @S$3.00
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - The dessert has turned cold. They should keep this dessert warm at all times. It is quite weird to eat a cold sesame paste.

Glutinous Rice Ball @S$2.50
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - They gave two peanuts filling and two black sesame fillings. As you can see the rice ball is quite big and the fillings are delicious. However, the ginger soup based is not impressive if to compare the one at Chinatown Dessert @Pandan Indah

Overall this is a good dessert house and highly recommended to try their shaved ice desserts. As for others, please do not set a high expectation on them and maybe you will find that they are actually not that bad as well.

Total Damage: S$17.50
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 3/5
