Tamarind Hill, Jalan Sultan Ismail

It is another year of Valentines' Day where all high class restaurants are squeezing their brains to come out with great ideas to bring the Valentines' atmosphere out to their beloved patrons. Usually during Valentines' Day, all high class restaurant will halt all their ala-carte menu and only serve Valentines' Day Special Menu. This happens to Tamarind Hill as well. It is a Burmese and Thai restaurant.
A glass of Chandon Brut, a lovely dessert and a beautiful girl to start my Valentines' Day. This Valentines' Set dinner is cost at RM450 nett per couple. Set not inclusive champagne but only include coffee or tea.
Tasting Platter: Pandan Chicken, Steamed Seafood with Young Coconut and Papaya Prawn Salad.
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - Very delicious set to start with. Since it is a Burmese-Thai cuisine, these food are served cold and you would not feel offended by it at all because it is meant to be cold.

Soup: Clear Tomyam Hot Basil Leaf with Scallop, Lobster, Squid and Red Snapper
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - The tomyam is not very spicy to spoil the night with running nose and tissues but the spicy kick is still there to make you know you are still drinking a tomyam soup. I hope the soup can be more and same goes to the seafood. The seafood is just a small chunk of everything.

Lychee Sorbet
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5
Taste: 3/5
Overall: 3/5 - It is served in order to get ready to fill in the main course. Nothing taste special enough to be commented here but not bad either.

Main Course: Wagyu Strip Loin (MB5) marinated in Oyster Sauce served with Pandan-flavoured Coconut Rice accompanied with Sautéed Kailan and Broccoli
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Overall: 4/5 - The wagyu strip loin is the highlight of the whole dish for tonight. How it is melt in your mouth...the experience...I am out of word to describe the greatness in it. Just hope the portion can be bigger. The rice is so fragrance enough which you do not mind to just eat them like that. Sauteed Kailan is still ok.

Dessert: Fresh Caramelized Mango Envelope in Pastry with Green Tea Ice Cream
Outlook: 3/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Overall: 3/5 - The ice cream has already melted by the time they served it to us. That is really bad way to end a course. As for the taste, I am quite fine with it but I thought to have more Thai style dessert instead.

The bar session which is not really needed at this moment.
I like their basin in the toilet the most! There is no tap water and the water just flow like it is a natural water from the river or something. Very cool design.
We enjoy our Valentines' Day a lot! This is a really good place for this special day. Highly recommended!
Without a doubt, the price is a little too pricey. However, when you only spend on special days...it is worth every cent!
