Observatory Deck @KL Tower

This majestic KL Tower is opened ever since on the Labour Day of the year 1996 to the public. Almost 8 years has passed and I have only visited twice. I believe many people from KL does not even visited for at least one time. The ticket price is RM49.00 (international) and RM29.00 (myKad).
This is the entrance to the 421 meter tall tower with security checks which is not really tight just not to offend any tourists. Just need 59 seconds to reach the observatory tower from the ground floor. That's quite impressive.
The weather on that day is quite misty because it was raining. So the sky is not clear and not a good view to see. So you are highly encourage to select the best time to visit the tower to have the fullest enjoyment from it.
I selected late evening to see the sunset but I am wondering if I am able to see that in such condition. It is quite sad that only half of the tower is opened for viewing so we are not able to see 360 degrees of KL Tower. The most disappointing part we were not notified at any point until we discovered ourselves when we reached the observatory tower. Very disappointing.
This tower is used for communication purpose and features an antenna which reaches 421m. Otherwise without it, it would be just 335m.
One thing good about rain is you would probably catch a rainbow when the sun reveals itself again. Not really clear but quite amazing enough for me.
The other purpose of this tower is to acts as the Islamic falak observatory to observe the crescent moon to identify the Muslim's calendar month. So they will know when do they celebrate their fasting month.
There are around 4 binoculars like this for you to see closely on the buildings below. There should be more but unfortunately has been closed for renovation as I have mentioned earlier on.
We have much clearer skies now! This is promising for my sunset shot. By the way, annually there is a towerthon event where participants race up to the tower. It is really cool event to join. Not just for the prizes but at least an accomplishment for yourself.
The vision is getting better and I started can view from far. Next thing is just wait for the sun. For your information, this year they have an opened air observatory which is cost at RM99.00/pax. This is something new only started in 2014. There is no discount yet even you are holding a myKad. It should be interesting to feel the air breeze at the top of Malaysia. Somehow, it is quite costly.
Here are the sun giving its last brightness to the city before he sleeps. Magnificent scenery but there is a glass reflection which is spoiling this picture. It would be great if taking this shot at the opened air observatory.
Final shot before I called it a day. Not bad that somehow my mission has accomplished.
Overall, I am not happy that I was not informed about half of the observatory deck is closed for renovation. Even though the ticket price is reduced a little compare my visit in a few years back but that should not be a good excuse. Anyway, it is good to be at the highest viewpoint in Malaysia that is opened for public at least once. I think I will be joining for their Towerthon this year which is on 18 May 2014.
Total Damage: RM116.00
Freakout Level: 1/5 - nothing to be afraid about
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 1/5
Will I Revisit?: Maybe to the opened deck observatory but recommend to all Malaysian to visit your country's very own tower at least once.
