Marini's on 57 @KLCC

In Singapore, you will see high class restaurants open their restaurant with Marina Bay Sands view. In KL, it will be the Petronas Twin Tower instead. However, to allow you to dine with the tower so up close and personal to you, it got to be Marini's on 57. Outstanding view which will just leave a memory of a lifetime to you.
You are very encouraged to make advanced reservation before visiting unless you are coming here for a common daily dining. This restaurant is located at Tower 3 and the entrance is near where the Chanel shop is. You will see a man with black suit at the entrance to escort you to their lift. Their lift is only going to take you to 57th floor which is where this restaurant is located.
If you plan to dine by the window, they do set a minimum spending of RM300++/pax. Do not worry about it because you will easily spent more than that even with just main course and drinks only. This level is divided to two parts which are the restaurant and the bar. So the seats are pretty limited for both especially it can be full house even on weekdays.
This is the view you are getting which is the view of Jalan Sultan Ismail. While for the bar, you will the Jalan Ampang view.
This is a portion of the view inside this restaurant. Glass roofed ceiling to enable you to see a 90 degrees of vertical KL view. The seats are spacious and privacy enough to have your own sweet talk with your partner. The restaurant will started getting noisy when every customers begin to fill up the tables. Oh yeah! For your information, the dishes that I am about to share to you below might only last for a couple of months only. They will change their menu occasionally.
This is a very romantic place to be for couples who is looking for a celebration on something. One thing worth to note for is their service. The service provided here are truly outstanding. Each table is specifically managed by one waiter/waitress to make sure your wine glass is always full. One more thing which I would consider it rather bizarre in their service is they have a designated waiter to help you with tissue to dry your hands in their restrooms. I am not going to share all the amazing "things" here so you need to come and check it out yourself. However, what I would say is that the 10% of service charge on the bill is well worth it.
They are never stingy with complimentary food for you throughout your dinner. Like any other restaurants, they will start you off with breads. Their breads are still okay but I have tasted better. Well, it is common to have higher expectation when you know you are going to pay a bomb in the end.
No, this is not a table decoration. If you are asking me if this bonsai is real, yes it is and quite heavy too. It is another complimentary starter which I forgot the name of it.(not really good memorizing a weird name). You just need to pluck the round moss ball looking with your hand and eat. I only can taste saltiness in it and nothing else. Not really fancy about it.
Insalata Stagionale(Garden Salad) @RM88.00++

Overall: 3/5 - I thought to be a normal salad but they just like to be creative about it. It is a salad made of 20 types of vegetables in it, 12 dressings, 4 perfumes and 5 "fresh air". As you can see there are 5 glasses which starts from the left are Tomato & Basil Sorbet, Apple Foam, Lemon Foam, Oyster Leave and a glass of sparkling water. You need to take all of these in order starting from the left to clean your taste bud before starting with the salad.

This is a printed ingredients of this complicated salad. There is a 4 perfumes which is not in the picture because they will spray for you upon serving. There are lemon, orange, basil and lavender and you just can only choose one.
These are the perfumes and you are not restricted to one for this. So you can test one by one of your salad.
20 types of vegetable in a such a small portion of salad. The creativity is impressing but the taste is just acceptable because when you have so many dressing to choose from with so small portion to eat. Basically, you are just experimenting the salad instead of eating it.

Overall: 3/5 -  2 pan seared Hokkaido sea scallops with sea urchin cream as dressing and 4 sea asparagus. Yes, I am purposely counting it out since that is going to cost me more than RM160.00. However, undeniably that it is very delicious, sweet and fresh scallop. That two pieces are just not enough to pleasure you.

They do provide oyster leave and salmon roe to clean your taste bud before taking the sea scallop. If you wished to ask me whether does it works, well I will honestly say that I taste the same.

Overall: 2/5 - 150gm of aged Wagyu beef in tagliata style with spinach, summer truffle and parsnip. I know tagliata style is an Italian way of serving the meat but cutting it to small size like this. It is meant to be salty. If you are not a person who can take saltiness like me, do not order this. Almost RM85.00 for every small piece that is on the plate. Extremely expensive and really regret ordering it.

Overall: 3/5 - Breaded lamb cutlets Milanese style, potatoes and roasted onion, roasted beetroot, and green Spanish Piquillo pepper, Very creative way to breaded the lamb with fried cheese. It looks like a drumstick but it is a lamb rack instead. The first bite on it you feel like an attack of cheese fragrance all over your mouth and follow by the saltiness of the cheese. It is really a pleasuring moment.

The lamb is soft and tender which has very minimal gamey taste on it. To those who dislike gamey taste, this is a must order dish for you.\
Another complimentary dessert which they called it Candle which does looks like one. It is a caramelized. Quite delicious.

Overall: 3/5 - Just a fancy tiramisu and not my favourite traditional Italian type of Tiramisu with lots of rum in it. Too creamy and too much coffee.

Overall: 3/5 - Homemade vanilla gelato served with warm chocolate lava cake. Hot and cold combination is always delightful experience to your taste bud. Never going wrong if you are choosing a dessert which is using this theme.

Before we left, they have their final complimentary for us which a fresh baked mini croissant to take home. This is the first restaurant I have been with so many complimentary things to give out. Well, after all you are paying for such a price. Overall, I would like to conclude about this restaurant is their ambiance and service are remarkable. Their price is as expected going to be very expensive but it does not worth the food that you are paying. When you had paid so much, you demand higher quality from the food. So in order to make myself feel better, I am telling myself actually I am paying for the service and the ambiance instead. The are very creative with their food but the taste does not live up to standard. However, I would still recommend to anyone who wants to amaze their special one on certain celebration.
Total Damage: RM965.10
Ambiance: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Will I Revisit?: No but recommended at least once.
