Torii Japanese Restaurant, Plaza Batai

Torii is a Japanese pub alike restaurant with yakitori a.k.a meat skewers as their signature. They have a range of sake, red wines, champagnes and any other exotic type of alcohol beverages which you may never heard of. The most bizarre wine which cost RM15,000++ is also available here. I wonder how long does it takes for them to sell one bottle of that.
The interior design is not really a place that looks like you are going to open a RM15k wine. The space is quite tight and lack privacy for you to really enjoy an expensive wine.
Yakitori is their specialty so be ready for a smokey restaurant but their ventilation is way better than some Korean restaurant. You wouldn't smell too bad after dining here.
Stone Bowl Rice @RM36.79
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - A bowl with full of luxurious seafood in it which can't be that bad at all. The only problem is the size. It is way too small even for a person. They need to serve a bigger portion than this for such a price.

Simmering Inaniwa Udon @RM17.92
Outlook: 1/5
Creativity: 1/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 1/5 - Just udon and seaweed...what is this? Ya, the udon is delicious but...I think I can make myself.

Black Pepper Soba @RM35.85
Outlook: 2/5
Creativity: 2/5
Taste: 2/5
Price: 1/5
Overall: 1/5 - The gravy is slightly salty but the meat is soft and tender. The ingredients are top class but the taste is really far from grace. It is a waste of such a top quality ingredient.

Torii Fried Rice @RM23.58
Outlook: 2/5
Creativity: 1/5
Taste: 3/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 2/5 - The little piece of meat on top of the fried rice is the foie gras. The amount is kind of pathetic isn't it? The fried rice is average and the portion is so small to cost that much.

Torii Sashimi (6 pcs) @RM39.62
Outlook: 4/5
Creativity: 4/5
Taste: 4/5
Price: 2/5
Overall: 3/5 - Their sashimi is fresh and premium quality but the size is just so so small or should use the word "tiny" instead...

Smoked Duck @RM12.26 - The smoked taste is not strong enough to ignite the taste of the duck meat.

Rock Lobster @RM10.38 - Delicious fresh lobster which will be gone in just a bite and you can feel can feel the wallet crying in pain after that.

Rack of Lamb @RM17.92 - Look at the size which is bigger than your thumb and look again at the price tag. You will try to convince yourself it is actually worth it but actually it is not. Never will!

Beef Enoki @RM11.32 - Tasty and delicious premium beef which is still too expensive for just one stick.

Chicken Bomb @RM10.38 - This is worth it among all. Biggest size among all other skewers that I have ordered. The taste is really like a bomb after mixing with the raw yolk. It is exploding in my mouth for sure.

Chicken Roulade @RM10.38 - Too salty. I think I pay for the salt instead of the meat itself.

Whole Japanese Squid @RM34.91 - All their ingredients are fresh except their squid. No tenderness, not chewy...really hard to force yourself to swallow it but you look at the price again, you will manage it somehow.

Overall, this restaurant is so expensive and stingy in size. We spent a bomb but came out hunting for second round.
Total Damage: RM302.50
Ambiance: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Food Serving Speed: Moderate
Will I Revisit?: No and not recommended
